Where is Tanzania?
Tanzania covers is the largest country in Eastern Africa. Just south of the equator, it borders Kenya and Uganda in the north; the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Burundi in the west; and Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique in the south, and is therefore a splendid centre from which to explore eastern, central and southern Africa.

What is the best time of the year to go on safari?
Any time of the year is a great time to go on safari! The most popular times to go on safari are December to May and June to October. We are sure to follow where the animals are and arrange our safaris accordingly.

What kind of weather can I expect on safari?
The weather in Tanzania is usually warm, dry and sunny. December through April is typically warmer (70ºF-80ºF) and brings more rain. May through November is usually cooler (60ºF-70ºF) and has more dry air.

What kind of food should I expect on safari?
There is a large variety of food served on safari. The food is usually prepared with Western tastes in mind but also includes authentic Tanzanian dishes for you to try. In most lodges and camps food is served buffet style. Special diets can be accommodated with notification.

Can I drink the water in Tanzania?
Bottled drinking water is provided in the safari vehicle. Bottled drinking water can also be purchased at camps and lodges.

When and where can I see the Great Migration?
The Great Migration is large herds of hoofed animals traveling for food and water. The Great Migration can be seen in the Serengeti Plains, across the Mara River, and into Masai Mara (in Kenya). These animals tend to be in the Serengeti Plains in Tanzania in December to March although this is largely dependent on weather.

Our safari vehicles are luxury 4WD landcruisers with pop up roofs large windows for easy viewing. The vehicles are equipped with binoculars, animal and bird books, a first aid kit, and a refrigerator for cool water.

Are safaris good for traveling with children?
Yes! Children love to go on safari and see the animals in their natural habitat. It is a great way for children to learn. Children under 12 are eligible for discounts on safari pricing. Consider our family safari.

What kind of clothing should I bring on safari?
We recommend that you bring light, casual, airy clothing. You will also want a hat and sunscreen as it can get very sunny on game drives. The evenings can get a bit chilly so you may want a light sweater.

What kind of electricity is used in Tanzania?
Tanzania uses 220Volt electricity. You will need adapters to charge your electronics if your home country does not use 220Volt electricity.

What medical care do I need before traveling to Tanzania?
We recommend that you consult a medical professional before traveling to Tanzania to determine what medical care you will need. Most travelers will receive a yellow fever vaccine and anti-malarial pills.

Do I need a visa to travel to Tanzania?
A tourist visa is needed to enter Tanzania but can be purchased at the airport upon arrival. Tourist visas can also be purchased in advance if you are more comfortable with this arrangement.The visa is $100 for US citizens and $50 for citizens of all other countries. Your passport must also have six months of validity remaining in order to enter the country.

What language is spoken in Tanzania?
The national languages in Tanzania are Swahili and English although there are over 100 different languages spoken. Tanzania is the most linguistically diverse county in East Africa.
