Mount Kilimanjaro

Located in Northern Tanzania and bordering Kenya, Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the landscape. Mount Kilimanjaro, the worlds largest free standing mountain is an extinct volcano and a true sight to see.

Mount Kilimanjaro is remote, alluring and, simply put, awe inspiring. Starting off on the dusty plains of equatorial Africa and trekking to near arctic conditions at the summit, you will pass through tropical rain forest, moorland and alpine desert onto snow and ice. Your first trip to this mountain will be nothing short of dramatic. Kilimanjaro offers thrilling adventure taking you to the highest point in Africa.

This mountain attracts nature enthusiasts as well as mountain climbers with its distinctive eco-systems. The ascent to this majestic peak is a non-technical climb, accessible to all. The ascent has its challenges and rewards. Training prior to your climb is a must to keep you in strong physical condition.

The climb to the peak typically takes five days. You should be comfortable walking four to eight hours per day. The ascent to the summit is the most demanding day of all; usually taking eight hours on the ascent to Uhuru Peak and another seven hours on the descent. This requires both strength and endurance.
